Write a 750-word essay that compares and contrasts the persuasive techniques used in each speech of the two historical speeches below.
- Explore the context of these two speeches at competing political conventions. Together, both had a significant effect on raising awareness of the AIDS virus in this country as something that should matter to everyone.
- Watch both speeches with an eye to how they are using Aristotle’s concepts of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos.
- Use direct evidence from the speeches to support your points.
- Did you find one more affective than the other? Would someone else feel differently?
- Be sure that your essay has a clear thesis.
