Editing Your Introductory Speeches
In the first module, you were asked to deliver an introductory speech. This week, I would like you to revisit that first speech and think about it more as a unified whole, something that has a clear Introduction, Body, and Conclusion.
You will be WRITING this speech and using AI to help you improve it.
Instructions:
- Rewatch your introductory speech. If you’ve uploaded it to YouTube, you should be able to take the speech transcript directly. If not:
- Identify and use the two or three main points from your speech to write out your speech.
- Edit your transcript or written speech paying particular attention to crafting a stronger introduction and conclusion.
- If the speech were to be delivered, it should still be no more than 2-3 minutes long.
- Take the draft of your speech and use an AI language modeler such as ChatGPT, or Gemini to help improve the speech further.
- Try prompting the AI to improve the introduction and conclusion in different ways.
- Submit your original draft AND an updated draft based on what AI helps you with.
- Write a paragraph about what you observed when using AI for this task.
