This module made it clear to me how public speaking, audience engagement, and ethical dilemmas associated with AI use are connected. AI helped   me in improving the introduction and conclusion of my speech, which I found to be very crucial for keeping the audience engaged. But the task also brought up ethical concerns regarding originality and authenticity. While AI may enhance clarity, using it too much runs the danger of weakening the speaker’s individual voice. My viewpoint has changed as a result of this experience, and I am now more aware of how technology can help improve my original work but also having to be careful not to let it change my unique voice and ideas.

In this module, I found clear connections between audience engagement, public speaking, and the ethical concerns of AI. When giving a speech, capturing attention at the beginning and closing strongly are crucial for audience impact, which AI can help structure. However, the ethical considerations around AI in public speaking relate to authenticity and trust. Using AI can make a speech more polished and concise, however the speech loses authenticity and personal voice. I noticed this while doing the AI speech versus my speech. AI tends to produce generic content, which may lack the unique personal touch or depth of emotion that a speaker might naturally bring. I feel as though public speaking is about building a connection with the audience, and that connection often stems from a speaker’s personal experiences, emotions, and authenticity. Using AI can diminish this bond.

This modulee highlighted how important it is to be virtuous and honest when you’re preparing a speech. You never want to leave a bad taste in the mouth of the audience because what you are saying is dishonest and vile. The more you dedicate time to present facts that are accurate to the audience, you will further connect and have credibility. Ethics also carry over into the AI world because it is a powerful tool that is advancing at an alarming way. It is so smart that it is scary. I noticed how fast AI can gather information and articulate it well in literal seconds. The connection that I see with technology, ethics, and public speaking is that information must be accurate and truthful. Having wrong information ruins bonds and credibility from the AI world and for us as humans.

This module taught me a lot on the importance of engaging an audience especially through the beginning and ending of your speech. The way you capture the listeners interest by highlight your speech and ending it with a conclusive word or sentence can make or break the message of your speech. Learning about the usage of AI and how it can help make your speech better was interesting as I never knew how quick it would gather information and write out a beautiful piece. With that being said, AI can be tricky as we want to make sure its offering us credible information through supported & factual sources.

In this module, I noticed an interesting connection between audience engagement, the use of technology like AI, and the ethical considerations surrounding public speaking. One key takeaway is the importance of capturing the audience’s attention at the beginning and ending of a speech. AI helped me refine these crucial parts, suggesting ways to make my speech more engaging without losing its personal, ethical integrity. This process made me reflect on how technology can be used to enhance public speaking, but also raised questions about relying too heavily on AI. There’s a fine line between using AI to improve clarity and authenticity versus allowing it to reshape your message in a way that might feel artificial or less genuine. Through the introductory speech experiment, I realized that AI can serve as a tool to refine ideas, but it’s still up to the speaker to maintain ethical responsibility in ensuring the message remains truthful and personal. AI might suggest great ways to engage an audience, but it’s the speaker’s responsibility to ensure the content aligns with their values and purpose. In terms of public speaking, technology offers a way to optimize delivery and content, but ethically, the speaker must still own their words and be mindful of the message they are conveying.

This module showed the connection between audience engagement, public speaking, and AI ethics. AI can improve speech clarity and structure but risks removing authenticity if overused. This module made me more aware of balancing tech use with maintaining my own voice and ensuring a genuine balance between regular communication and AI-improved communication.

AI is something that is not going away. So we have to use it in a positive way. I see that AI can make a better speech. But I feel that speech made up by our self is better. Where we can make joke and have funny and awkward moments. The AI speech is good but we will have to read it up on the paper. I believe that speeches are something to speak on the spot. Where we talk about anything that come up to your minds.

This module made it clear that as a public speaker, you must be ethical and prepared. Yes, the video I saw definitely, changed my mind on how public engagement happens and to look out for clues to know if a public speaker is trustworthy. I think that AI is great for helping correct something that is already there, like the speech I had. It made it sound clear, concise, and professional. Technology, public speaking, and ethics go hand in hand. Public speakers should definitely, use technology to improve their speeches BUT there needs to be a fine line between asking AI to write something for you vs helping you advance the writing you have already come up with.

This module showcased a lot of important things to captivate a reader’s attention such as keeping them engaged from the introduction to conclusion. The videos helped me better understand the connection of the audience and the public speaker depends on the tonality of the speakers definitely determines how the audiences views you off the first impression. I also see the relationship between between technology, ethics, and public speaking as they intertwine during speeches. Technology can be used to help hone and use better vocabulary for a person’s speech which overall can give the speaker a different way to word their speech and not completely copy it which is in line with their ethics.

This module bettered my understanding about how AI and public speaking are connected. One important thing I took away was capturing the audiences attention at the beginning and end of your speech. When I reworded my transcript, I noticed how AI ended and begun the speech. AI is here to stay and it can help us better word our speeches when we might be stuck on how to end or start them.

While reading through this module i was able to see how you can engage in your audience and let them understand you . An analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence in public speaking revealed that it can be a useful tool for improving speech content and delivery. It also raises ethical concerns, like the potential for bias in AI systems, which can jeopardize the speaker’s credibility. I learned how technology can improve speech clarity and engagement by trying out the AI-powered introductory speech experiment. It also made clear how important it is to keep a personal touch in order to keep the message sincere and morally sound.
In general, there is a complicated link between public speaking, technology, and ethics. While technology can help presenter produce presentations that are more impactful, it is essential to use technology wisely and ethically to uphold a sense of trust with the audience.

This module taught me the basics of structure in speech such as the introduction should be quickly engaged and grab the attention without revealing too much. The conclusion should have a strong main idea, lingerie for the reader. AI does serve a role in improving the quality of speech but can manipulate human creativity as it can affect the individual to rely heavily on it to do the work for them which is not ethical as it’s not written by them because it’s simply taking credit over a tool that shouldn’t be overused. Furthermore, technology is used to connect people through engaging in public speaking as many platforms promote the act of free speech but there is a fine line that people will cross to the extreme of their viewpoints can be misleading in today’s political affairs that changes the ethics of how we read these articles. Most of them have a lack of information or are made by AI that as users we have to read carefully between each word that is said. It is hard to differentiate between right and wrong in today’s politics and when stating our opinion we have to believe what is right in the speech so that the viewer can fully grasp it.

In this Module, I read and learned about AI and the connections it has with Public Speaking. There are some key relationships between Public Speaking and AI. While AI can certainly improve a speech by fine tuning grammar, structure, and word usage, it can also hurt a speech. It certainly has the ability to take away from the speech in regards to the way it is meant to be. It can rob the speech of human authenticity, making it robotic and uninteresting. I think it’s super important to take AI suggestions with a grain of salt, and keep the speech authentic to ourselves.

The connection I see between these sources are that yes AI may be bad but it is not the villain. It is the people who use it to do things that are unethical. So how as a society can we find the ethic moral in using AI for its good intended purpose. This was my first time using AI and I was shocked how easy it was. It really surprised me to how it took someone’s personal work and made it their own. Also making it better in fact. I think the relation between AI and public speaking is very similar ethically. How do we know when to trust, it based all on ethics. Now I get why the article said AI needs ethical values the most.

I can see that both public speaking and the use of AI has its ethical concerns, as both of them have the intention of giving the public information. If either of them is used wrongly, it can manipulate a large number of people to do bad things. Based on the readings and videos that I have watched, I learned more about the seriousness of public speaking and the effects that it can have on people. I also learned that plagiarism can happen in many forms, and although some might not seem like it, it is still unethical to do.

The main thing that I learned from this module was that AI can be really helpful, but equally or even more so damaging to society. The idea that AI doesn’t care or doesn’t even know that plagiarism is a thing and can just steal work from original creators is really frightening and I’m worried that it might be too late to stop it. I feel like the explosion of AI technology came too quickly without there being time to create proper safety regulations for it and now it might be too late. Then on the other side, AI taught me how to improve the flaws in my speech and can help humans improve in so many ways. Ultimately, I think AI brings more bad than good and that it will be impossible to have AI be truly “ethical”.

What I observed and learned by doing the introductory speech experiment with AI is that it’s very easy to use and fast. You can also outline the prompt; It didn’t change my words and did what I asked it exactly (which was: “the transcript” and then wrote to “help me improve the speech further”.The relationships I see between technology, public speaking, and ethics is they all brainstorm a way to communicate.

After making the introductory speech with AI, it taught me how efficient using AI really is. Its capabilities are beyond our imagination of how well it really works. It did not change my speech at all, while helping me improve. This did not change my perspective of AI but it certainly raised my awareness of how useful it can be

    – Just realized I didn’t post a response to this Module

In this module, I gained understanding on the relation between AI and public speaking. AI can assist to enhance a speech in aspects like grammar, organization of the paper and even word selection; nevertheless, it has its flaws. It can also disrupt the smooth flow of the speech and make it sound artificial and thus less appealing. We should always pay attention to the recommendations that AI is offering to us and ensure that the speech is as real as we are.
