
Assignment: Post a Narrative/Story Telling Speech
Instructions: Record a 5-minute or less story.
- Choose any fairy or folk tale. In your narrative speech, tell us the story.
- Do not read the story directly.
- You may have note cards or an outline.
- Be creative!
- This is an opportunity to practice telling a story – leading us as the audience through the tension and emotion that a good story arc creates. Your story should have a clear beginning, middle, and end.
- Read or watch a few versions of your story and pick what you like to use.
- You can tell it any way you wish.
- For example, Tell it from a different perspective or modernize it.
- Post it on the site.
Posting Your Speech
Select “#2 Narrative” for the Category. You will also select a second category box for your group (A,B, or C).
As part of next week’s module, you will be giving feedback to the other members in your group.

Practice before you record. You shouldn’t write this narrative out. You should be able to tell it without anything more than an outline.

Remember, TELL us the story. Don’t tell us about the story.
