I like writing outlines before writing papers or essays because they help me organize my thoughts in a way that is easier to understand. I used to be a very big procrastinator but I have learned to set deadlines for myself instead of regarding the actual deadlines I may have so that I can avoid the last minute rush and stress.

I’m glad they’ve proven helpful to you! Have you ever tried outlining a paper after you’ve written it? This is a technique called reverse-outlining that can work as a great editing tool by showing you where material is maybe in the wrong place or where you are lacking evidence. It’s especially helpful for making sure you have good topic sentences for your paragraphs, because if you’ve outlined them, then you know what each paragraph should really be about.

Outlines are incredibly useful in writing. They provide structure and help me organize my thoughts before diving into the actual writing process. However, procrastination can be challenging. I tend to procrastinate when I feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure about where to start. One thing I found that helps is to break tasks into smaller, manageable steps and just get started, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

My experience with outlines is that they are very useful. I find them useful in writing because it helps me get my thoughts in one place before I actually start writing. Procrastination plays a role in my life because I tend to put off certain things until it’s near the deadline and that’s a bad habit, it causes me to be a little more stressed out complete it.

Do you find outlines help you with that procrastination? I also struggle with procrastination and sometimes find that I’ve outlined more in my head than on paper and so my first step is often trying to get that down and then I wish I had done it earlier because I’m sure I’ve left something out!

When it came to writing class I liked doing an outline because it was always simple and it did not have to be deep just a paper filled with brainstorms. I didn’t like doing a final draft though because I always thought it was a waste of time but this class has changed my mind. Procrastination used to play a big role in my life but now I like to complete things before the deadline because too much anxiety comes with waiting.

I mentioned above that I find outlines to be a really useful editing technique as well. I also used to hate editing papers. Reading my own writing was the worst. What I’ve learned over time is that our first drafts are really where we draw out our thinking and that the critical piece of editing is to flip to looking at the work like a reader (or in the case of a speech – a listener) would. This often involves rearranging our points a bit because we’ve written through to be able to make them, rather than highlighting them at the beginning for a reader and then using evidence to support the ideas.

I like writing and especially think outlines are helpful. I am writing about preparing for the GRE and during the analytical writing portion, although timed I still wrote a little outline before beginning. I believe that helped me get my thoughts out clearly.

Outlines for timed writing are critical as they help keep you on track to have at least a somewhat polished piece of writing quickly rather than being cut off only part way through because you haven’t figured out where you are going yet.

I have written outlines majority of my life. I find it makes it easier to remember whatever you’re supposed to be doing. I think of it as a planning guide and every aspect of everything I do. I feel it is very important in writing because it gives you a basis of the excact points you need to execute in the piece you have to map out. Procrastination is an everyday task in life. I gave up trying to fight it. Example A; me submitting this homework the day it’s due when I had 2 weeks. I kept telling myself to do it now to get it over with, but yet here we are.

I’ve always found outlines to be really helpful when it comes to organizing my thoughts before writing. They give me a clear path to follow so when I actually sit down to write it feels a lot less overwhelming. I used to struggle a lot with procrastination especially when I wasn’t sure how to start. But now if I take a little time to plan out my points in an outline the whole process becomes smoother. It’s still hard to avoid pushing things off sometimes but breaking things into smaller steps and getting that initial outline done helps me stay on track.

Outlines can often be seen as simplified or important key point-oriented, but they often tell a lot more that isn’t immediately apparent from the actual piece of information or writing.

I am a very big procrastinator but this year since I am in college I made myself an outline with all my assignments and their due dates so I can stay on track. I never found outlines useful but in college my opinion has definitely changed. I never really used them in writing. I found it easier to just write on the paper than create a whole outline. I’ve always been a procrastinator and I still am that is something I have been trying to work on.

I think that outline is useful. It give you a idea of how you are going to write or speak. Making everything easier. Procrastination play a big role in my life. A lot of time I do have the motivation to do work. Deadline give me the pressure and the motivation to finish the work.

I love using outlines! I use them specifically for script analysis and character traits. Making outlines helps me make informed decisions and choices regrading my character. Procrastination plays a pretty decent role in my life, as I push a lot of things to the last minute. I also struggle with long term procrastination at times, and his explanation of that really felt relatable for me.

When I write an outline, it simplifies what I’m thinking in my head because there is a lot of chaos with how many ideas I want to put into a written work and how much I should need or how much evidence I should remove. I do struggle with procrastinating especially doing things at the last minute. It’s hard for me to do something that at times I’m not feeling passionate about or don’t enjoy like writing is something I would always avoid.

Outlines help organize ideas and keep writing clear and focused. They break down big tasks into smaller, manageable parts.

I procrastinate but wouldn’t say I like it because then I have to use the time I want to relax to finish the work I have been stockpiling. I’m trying hard to not do it anymore. One thing at a time.

I already know writing outlines are very useful. Every time in my previous English classes, before I would write my essay I would always outline my ideas and thoughts of what should be included and what I want to write about. They were useful to me then and will be useful to me now in this class. They are incredibly valuable

I have haven’t outlined since middle school and I feel as though I am a pretty strong writer so I always come up with my ideas on the fly. However, I definitely can see how much structure it can bring before you write a paper. Procrastination does not really play a big role in my life because I am very aware of its drawbacks when it comes to things of value. I prefer to be in control of my responsibilities.

I find outlines incredibly useful for organizing my thoughts and structuring content, as they help me break down complex ideas into manageable parts, ensuring a logical flow and efficient writing process. Outlines serve as a roadmap, allowing me to visualize the entire piece before diving into the details, which saves time and helps avoid straying off topic. Procrastination, however, sometimes makes it challenging to start large tasks. I’ve experienced this when faced with overwhelming projects, but I’ve found that creating an outline reduces the sense of overwhelm by breaking tasks into smaller, achievable goals. This strategy not only helps me stay on track but also mitigates the effects of procrastination by providing structure and making the task feel more manageable.

The outline really is useful when it comes to writing a paragraph. It just looks organized brainstorming what I want to write for my essay and how should I start. This is something that I would use before starting off my essay because I feel like starting off the essay would just make me not know what I am writing about.

I’ve used outlines many times because of all the papers that I needed to write in my life so far. I find outlines extremely helpful because it helps prevent me from getting lost in my writing by providing a format. Procrastination plays a really negative role in my life as it prevents me from reaching my best self. Short term gratification is a horrible thing when you aren’t working for long term goals.

Outlines help organize my writings and help me break down work into smaller sections so I can focus on them one at a time. I think they are very useful in writing as they make the final product more readable and also flow better. Procrastination plays a really negative role in my life because it stacks up work and I have to stress out doing it all at once, which is really ironic because I procrastinated doing this assignment.
