Doing Research

Hopefully, by this point in your academic career, you have some experience doing research and an understanding of why we do it. In public speaking, research is incredibly important when putting together the supporting evidence that builds out a speech. The following materials will help with reminders and tips as you build up the pieces that support your informative (and later, persuasive) speech.

Finally, once you do all this research, you’ll need to cite it in your oral speech. Even though I ask you to post your bibliography under your video, your speech credibility (and ethics) requires oral citation.
